January 2008 Ceramic Pieces

Summer is the time to play with clay and push myself to be in a creative mode. January 2008, I spent most of the morning in my vegetable garden, then worked on my projects, and spent a good three hours working in my small clay studio at home in the afternoon. We tried to explore some hiking trails near our house after dinner with L. The days are long and it's light from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
So, on the 29th Lorraine and I loaded our club gas kiln and fired all day. I made several glazes so that we didn't need to scrape glaze out from the containers. It was a successful firing and I am glad that all the new glazes turned out to be quite good.
Now, it's February. Things are getting busier around us. Still, however, the days are long and sunny. Free concerts, picnics and barbecues go another month in this town. Enough enjoyable activities for you if you are free.
